Home Assistant

Publish Reflex values to Home Assistant (an open-source home automation platform) and build automations on them there. Home Assistant sees the published values as ordinary sensors.

  1. Click + Add integration in the left column and enter the Home Assistant server details.
  2. Open the integration and click + Add entity.
  3. Select the value to publish and, if desired, assign a name. Leaving the name empty uses the value's own name.

Check the result: the value appears as an entity in Home Assistant.

Caution Removing a published value makes the entity disappear from Home Assistant, and any Home Assistant automation depending on it stops.
Integrations vs. actions, and publishing values no rule uses

An action runs once when a rule runs; an integration publishes values continuously.

Values not used by any rule can also be published. Reflex sets up the reading automatically, and reuses the existing reader if a rule already reads that value.

Cameras used by the integration appear on its page with live video, so their status can be confirmed even without a rule.

If a rule uses a value you stop publishing, the value itself continues to be produced; only publishing stops.
