Creating Your First Rule

Create and run a rule that sends an alert to your phone when a person appears at the front door.

Before You Begin

• Install the controller software and connect it to your network (see Install & Run). A wired connection is recommended.
• Connect the camera to the same network as the controller, and have its address and password ready.
• Install the Grablo app on your phone and sign in with the same Grablo account.

Steps

1. Click Connect in the upper right and select your controller. Controllers on the same network appear in the list automatically.

   

2. Click + Add rule in the left column and enter a name. Name rules after the situation to keep them easy to manage, e.g. "Person at the front door".
3. Click + Add condition and select AI Camera.
4. Select the camera and the analysis. An analysis sets what to detect on that camera. If none exists yet, create it from this panel.
5. Set Condition to Specific object and Target value to person, then click Add.

   

6. Click + Add action and select Push Notification. Enter the title and message, and save.

   

7. Add a Logging action the same way. Without it, alerts arrive but no record is kept. See Keeping Event Records.
8. Click the Start button in the upper right.

Check the result: when a person is detected for longer than the hold time set in the condition, an alert arrives on your phone.
