Keeping Event Records
Add a Logging action to save the moment a rule runs to the event log, with a photo or video. Without it, nothing is written to the log, so include one in most rules.
- In the rule, click + Add action and select Logging.
- Change Name to something easy to recognize.It is required and prefilled with a number. The log, the CSV, and the printed report use this name.
- Select the Target.A camera, an analysis, or a value. To keep the AI's judgment too, select an analysis.
- Under Type, select Snapshot or Video Clip, and save.A photo is captured even with a clip, for the list thumbnail.
Check the result: when the rule runs, a record appears in the event log.
What each target records

| Camera | Photos and video only. Use it to attach another camera as supporting context, including cameras this rule does not watch. |
| Analysis | The photo plus the AI's judgment. This is the only target whose AI results can be corrected from the log later. |
| Value | The reading at the moment the rule fired, with no attachment. |
Setting the length of video clips
| Pre-event (sec) · Post-event (sec) | How many seconds of video to include before and after the moment. |
| Video length | Fixed duration, or While detected, which records for as long as the detection lasts. |
Video is held in memory until it is written. A long Pre-event (sec) increases the controller's memory usage, and longer clips produce larger files.
Only one recording per camera can use While detected. If another record already uses it, this one is saved with a fixed duration, and the screen says so.
