Database
Registering a connection in Settings → Database makes it selectable in Action → Database for storing and retrieving data. There are five Type options, and the fields depend on the type.
- MySQL: A fast, reliable open-source relational database (the default).
- PostgreSQL: An open-source relational database with advanced features and scalability.
- SQLite: A lightweight relational database that runs from a single file with no server.
- ODBC: A standard interface for reaching many kinds of databases.
- Firebase DB: Google's cloud-based NoSQL real-time database.
| Type | Fields |
|---|---|
| MySQL and PostgreSQL | Host, port (3306 by default; change it to 5432 for PostgreSQL), connection timeout, username, password, database name |
| SQLite | DB file, taken from an uploaded file. |
| ODBC | Connection string, connection timeout |
| Firebase DB | Database address, web API key, and either anonymous login or an email and password |
Connection Timeout (3 seconds by default) is the longest the controller waits for the server connection; once it expires, the connection is treated as failed. For ODBC, Connection String is the string used to reach the server through the ODBC interface. For Firebase DB, turning on Anonymous Login hides the email address and password fields. See the Appendix for how to find the Firebase database address and web API key.
SQL databases are used from the action in the order Login, run query, Logout. Passwords, connection strings, and web API keys are stored encrypted on the controller.
