Part 3
Alerts
Alerts are configured per camera, and a camera can have multiple alerts.
Creating an Alert
- On the Alerts tab, click Add alert.
- Under Camera, select the target camera.
- Under What to detect, select the situation to be notified about.
- If Specific face detected was selected, choose the person under Who.
- Set When. If Pick my own hours is selected, enter the start and end times.
- Click Create.
| What to detect | Fires when | Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| Person detected | A person appears in view. | None |
| Registered face detected | A registered person is recognized. | Face recognition on, at least one face registered |
| Unregistered face detected | A face not on the registered list is detected. | Face recognition on, at least one face registered |
| Specific face detected | The specified person is recognized. | Face recognition on, that person registered |
| When | Active hours |
|---|---|
| Always | 24 hours |
| Daytime only | 07:00 to 18:00 |
| Nighttime only | 18:00 to 07:00 |
| Pick my own hours | Start and end times are entered manually. |
Note
The notification method is not selected separately. A newly created alert always
sends a phone notification. To stop receiving it, switch the alert off in the list.
Disabling and Deleting Alerts
Each alert has a switch. A disabled alert keeps its settings and can be re-enabled at any time. To remove one permanently, open it and click Delete. Recordings already saved are kept.
Note
Recording continues while an alert is off. Recording belongs to the camera, not to
the alert: adding a camera creates its recording, and footage is saved whenever a person
is detected, even with no alerts. The alert switch only determines
whether the phone is notified.
Alerts with a message shown underneath
An alert with a message underneath does not fire.
| Message | Cause | Resolution |
|---|---|---|
| Silent: this camera is turned off | The camera is off. | Turn the camera back on. |
| Stopped: face recognition is off | A face alert while face recognition is off. | Enable Settings > Face recognition. |
| No registered photos, so alerts will not fire | The person has no registered photos. | Register a face (see Registering a Face). |
| This alert is broken and cannot be toggled | The alert data is damaged. | Delete it and create it again. |
A row labeled Record only, no alert may also appear. It is either the recording entry created automatically with the camera, or an alert created in an older version. Alerts created in the current version always include a phone notification.
