Part 1
Getting Started
The device is connected once. After that, adding a camera completes the setup.
Components
A Spot installation consists of three components.
| Component | Role |
|---|---|
| Device | Analyzes video and stores recordings. All data is kept on the device and is not transmitted elsewhere. |
| Camera | Sends video to the device. One device handles multiple cameras. |
| App | Provides live monitoring, alert configuration, and history review. The same screen is available in a browser and on a phone. |
Before You Begin
- Power on the Grablo device and connect it to your network. A wired connection is recommended.
- Have each camera's address and password ready.
- Sign in with your Grablo account.
- To receive alerts on your phone, install the Grablo app on the phone and sign in with the same account.
Connecting the Device
- Power on the device and wait about one minute.
- Open the app. While no device is connected, the Connect your device screen is shown.
- Click Connect device and select your device from the list.
Note
Once a device is connected, this screen does not appear again. To connect a device later,
use Settings > Device.
Screen Layout: The Four Tabs
The tabs appear at the bottom of the screen on a phone and down the left side on a desktop.
| Tab | Contents |
|---|---|
| Live | Live video from every camera. |
| History | Saved recordings by date, and all search features. |
| Alerts | Alert configuration, per camera. |
| Settings | Starting and stopping monitoring, and settings applied to the whole place (the space unit managed by one device). |
The place name and connection status are always shown at the top of the screen. For the meaning of each status, see Connection Status.
