Cameras

Adding a Camera

  1. Go to Settings > Cameras and click Add a camera. If no camera exists yet, the same button also appears on the Live tab.
  2. Under Camera type, select the connection method.
    Camera typeInput
    RTSP

Stream URL, plus username and password. The URL is listed in the camera’s manual. Example: rtsp://192.168.0.10:554/stream
    ONVIF
(the discovery standard of IP cameras)
Select the camera from the search results and enter the username and password.
USB / UVCSelect the camera from the list.
  3. Enter an identifiable name in Camera name, such as Front door.
  4. Click Add camera, then Save. The device restarts, and the new camera appears on the Live tab when it finishes.
Adding an RTSP camera
Adding a camera by stream address.
Note Person detection and recording start automatically when a camera is added. Nothing needs to be switched on, and footage is recorded even without any alerts, because recording belongs to the camera, not to an alert. Face recognition is the only feature that requires enabling.
Caution Clicking Save restarts the device, and detection and recording stop for a few seconds during the restart. When changing multiple settings, make all changes first and save once at the end.
Editing and deleting a camera

Go to Settings > Cameras, select the camera, then use Edit to change its settings or Delete this camera to remove it. In either case, finish with Save to apply.

Deleting a camera also deletes its alerts. Recordings already saved are kept and remain available on the History tab.

Live Monitoring

The Live tab shows cameras as tiles.

The Live tab
One tile per camera. Clicking a tile enlarges it.
  • Click a tile to open View larger.
  • On a desktop, Show n per row arranges 1 to 3 tiles per row. On a phone, the same button at the right of the top bar offers 1 or 2.
  • A switched-off camera shows a camera icon instead of video and cannot be enlarged. Cameras are switched on and off in Settings > Cameras.
