Upgrading from Version 1.x
Starting with version 2.0, Grablo Spot has its own installer. Devices running 1.x don't update to 2.0 automatically, so you need to install 2.0 manually once.
Recordings and registered faces and vehicles stay on the device. The place's settings move from the web to the device when you open the place on the web.
These steps are for the Windows, macOS, and Linux installers. For Home Assistant, install the Grablo Spot add-on and add the device again. For Docker, run it with docker-compose.spot.yml.
- Uninstall the previous version of Grablo. On Windows, go to Settings > Apps and uninstall Grablo IoT Core. On macOS, click the Grablo icon in the menu bar, clear Launch at Login, click Quit, and then move Grablo from the Applications folder to the Trash. On both Windows and macOS, recordings in the storage folder are kept. On Linux, skip this step: installing the Grablo Spot package replaces the old one.
- Download and install Grablo Spot from the download page.
- Open the place this device is connected to at spot.grablo.co or in the Grablo app. The app recognizes it as the same device and connects automatically. The settings move to the device, and the app reloads.
Note
On Windows, if you used Zigbee actions, you may need to pair your Zigbee devices again after uninstalling the previous version.
After you upgrade, earlier versions can't read your settings, so don't go back to a version earlier than 2.0.
